We experimented with torrents in the past - old patches simply do not benefit from torrents but we'd have to either run our own tracker or index all 20K+ files on public trackers and make sure those trackers stay up and magnet links are still working. As for new files: the server already serves enough bandwidth and is hardly ever really full. So another reason why we see no benefit from offering torrents.
